Now that New Year’s day is sufficiently ruined by peppering the day with games from strictly deep also-rans, I don’t see where the “we gotta save the bowls” argument has any legs anymore either.

It used to be that Jan.1 was the greatest spectacle of entertainment ever crammed into one day. 3 TVs in a room, and a day where as many as 3 or 4 games could affect the national championship; depending on how things fell.

I have also been an advocate of a 16 team playoff system, and as opposed to the current scenario where really only one game matters, in a 16 team playoff, ALL 15 OF THE PLAYOFF GAMES WOULD MATTER.

I wanted to quote this out because it highlights the point that Tom is trying to make but which is being ignored by the Comcast Bonnie Defense Force: That there are Comcast Bonnies is great. But, there should not be a need for Comcast Bonnies. If Comcast was actually doing things right, they wouldn't have a critical mass of unhappy and outright disgruntled customers who are unable to get help through traditional channels such as phone support. And as nice as Bonnie's friendliness and good customer service is (I'd love for someone to walk my dog and do my laundry), ultimately, she can't make a whit of difference because Comcast's problems are systemic, from the incompetent or rude installers to the phone reps who aren't capable of actually helping. You shouldn't need to elevate the kind of customer service issue Tom had, and that's the point here.

10 huge thumbs up! I actually throw mine away the moment I get it. Never subscribed, but like a bowel movement…here it comes…

The fact that it goes straight from the mail to the trash doesn’t sound so “green” to me. But I never asked them to send it to me. It’s like when you come out of the mall, and as you drive off you realize a flyer is stuck under your wiper blades. Eventually it comes loose and flies away. Are you the litterer, or is the guy who stuck it there without your consent?
